FAQs

At Curbside Veterinary Clinic, we know you have questions about our policies and your pet’s health. Please click on the questions below for more information about each. If you don’t see your question, please contact us and we’ll be glad to provide an answer. Thank you!

How much does a house call cost?

At Curbside, we want to make our service affordable for all to take advantage of. Our fee for coming to you rages from $65 to $95, depending on the distance from our home base in Easton, CT. Additionally, our standard examination fee is $80. An average canine annual checkup and vaccinations house call is approximately $320. A feline annual checkup with vaccinations generally runs about $180. Since every pet’s medical needs vary, we encourage you to contact us for a more accurate quote for your pet.

Additional fees may apply for travel beyond 15 driving miles. If you are unsure as to whether or not this applies to your location, please give your nearest Curbside Vet to inquire.

Do you offer discounts for multiple pets?

This is a wonderful service for multi-pet households, and as such, we have developed a tier approach with respect to our fee schedule so that you receive maximal discounts on multi-pet visits. On any house call appointment, if we are evaluating more than one pet, we will apply a discount on all examinations and annual services. Some restriction apply, so please contact us for more information.

What form of payments do you accept?

For your convenience, we accept:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • American Express
  • Discover
  • Personal and business checks
  • Cash

We also offer CareCredit to assist with higher cost procedures.

What kind of services do you provide?

Curbside is a full-service mobile veterinary clinic. We can perform everything from preventative care such as dental cleanings, vaccinations and parasite screening/prevention, to more advanced care like surgery, imaging studies (X-rays, ultrasounds, endoscopic examinations, etc…) and laboratory tests. Our mobile unit is set up with the latest technological equipment in order to deliver unparalleled care right at your doorstep.

What kind of animals do you treat?

What areas do you service?

Do you offer emergency care?

We are happy to offer limited emergency service to area residents. After-hours emergency care is available as either a standard or house call service. Serious life-threatening emergencies, however, will be referred to a more appropriate hospital setting. We encourage you to contact us with any emergency so that we can determine if Curbside can address your pet’s needs, or if a referral is necessary.

How long is a typical house call appointment?

Every house call appointment is allotted a minimum 40 minute time slot in order to allow sufficient time to examine and treat your pet, as well as complete the necessary paperwork. Some appointments may take longer if multiple pets need evaluation or if anesthetic procedures are to be performed, such as dental cleanings or surgeries.

Can we bring our pets to you instead of a house call appointment?

While our goal is to make it more convenient for you by coming to your home or place of business, Curbside is also happy to offer standard appointments in our mobile unit at our home base in Easton, CT. All examinations and procedures are performed in our unit. If a standard appointment is scheduled, there is no house call fee assessed.

How long does it take for my pet to recover from anesthesia?

At Curbside, we utilize the very best and safest anesthetics that allow us to perform our procedures in an efficient manner, without compromise to your pet’s safety. Our anesthetic protocols are designed to provide a quick and smooth recovery so that your pets are essentially back to normal prior to us leaving your home. They are carefully monitored throughout the entire procedure in order to maximize a quick recovery. Rest assured, whatever your pet’s anesthetic needs are, Curbside is always ready and capable to care for them.

What do we need to do to prepare for an appointment?

In order to best utilize your appointment time, we ask that your pets are readily and quickly accessible when we arrive. That means cats should be isolated to a small room or carrier, dogs are not left to roam the yard, and farm animals and horses are barned or stalled. This will ensure maximum time spent caring for your pets and answering your questions. While some exceptions do exist, examinations that are unable to be performed due to a lack of proper confinement on the part of the pet owner are still assessed a minimum fee.
